Garden City Baseball Opens Season with 8-4 Win Over Syosset

March 31, 2025 – Garden City, NY — Garden City baseball kicked off its 2025 season with a strong showing, defeating Syosset 8-4 in a non-league matchup on Monday afternoon at Garden City High School.

Junior pitcher Chris Desiderio earned the win on the mound, setting the tone early and keeping the Syosset offense in check through key innings.

At the plate, Kyle Walsh led the way for the Trojans, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and a home run that helped spark the offense. Garden City built a lead and never looked back, combining timely hitting with solid defense to secure the victory.

“We came out with good energy and executed in big spots,” said head coach Dave Izzo. “It’s always great to start the season with a win, but we know there’s a long road ahead. The goal is to keep improving every day and be ready when league play starts.”
